After coming up short at their first 5 set match-up of 2020, the Varsity Volleyball team was looking for some payback when they hosted Ansonia in CCC action. MV came out swinging and didn’t let the visitors score much on their own serve, taking the match at 25-15. In set 2 the Tigers put up more of a fight, but at 13-14, the Lady Hawks got a run, putting them up 19-14, and never let Ansonia catch up, as they took the set at 25-22. Determined to win in three, MV served well and added even more defense and attacking, capping the night with a 25-14 win.
“They had a goal tonight, and they never stopped. They played well as a team and never went into their usual lull. It was very exciting to see them get this win,” commented asst. Coach Longfellow. “Coach Hunt and Coach Neargarder are so happy with the way the team is starting to play. It’s the kind of team they love to coach.”
