Mississinawa Valley High School 3rd 4073

Boys Varsity Bowling traveled to Beaver-Vu lanes to participate in the Division 2 District Championship on Thursday, Feb. 20th. With 6 bowlers contributing to the day, the Blackhawks broke 3 school records in their push for state. During warm-ups, the MV Coaches had a good feeling, as all the bowlers were finding their marks and getting good pin fall. After the 1st regular game MV was in 6th place, but only out of the top qualifying 4 by 4 pins. Only 3 pins shy of setting a game record in the 2nd regular game, the Blackhawks moved up to 3rd place. Losing a little of their momentum, but still getting high marks, MV dropped a little, in to 5th place, after the 3rd regular game. They were only out of 4th place by 10 pins and 2nd by 48 pins. They also set a school record for 3 game series with a total of 2930.
Talking it over during the lunch break, the team decided it was going to be their day. In the 6-baker game round, they fought hard for every pin they could get and set a record for 6-game baker series with an 1143, thus also breaking the school record for post-season match score with a 4073. It also put them in 3rd place, qualifying them for the state tournament on Friday, Feb. 28 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl, starting at 10am.
