Game Recap

MV hosted Bethel on Thursday, Sept. 14, in a conference volleyball match. The Lady Hawks started out slowly with a disappointing 1st set loss, 13-25. Regrouping, they came out strong in the 2nd set, getting a quick lead, and finished the set at 25-18. Set three went back and forth, with great volleys and plays coming from both sides, but after a call from the referee, the Lady Hawks lost some momentum and fell to the Bees 23-25. Hoping to force a 5th set, MV put great effort into getting a 4th set win, but couldn’t get the ball to fall their way and ended the match with an 18-25 loss. Highs for MV were Amanda Armstrong with 7 kills & 4 blocks, Stevi Keen with 16 digs, MaKenna Price with 14 digs, Sidnie Hunt with 13 assists & 8 kills, Olivia Murphy with 14 assists & 8 kills, and Lindsay Johns & Riley Price with 3 blocks. Up next for the Lady Hawks is rival Ansonia on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Ansonia starting at 5:30pm.
